Do You Know an Innovation Pioneer?

Written by Lucie Robathan on September 27, 2018

Change might be afoot. The environment around us might be transforming rapidly, and technology might be posing all sorts of disruptions – but our associations are well-poised and well-equipped to see the future as an amazing opportunity.

Our biggest asset? People. The industry is teeming with visionary people, dedicated to making change, advancing the space, and supporting their communities as they evolve.

November’s SURGE conference will be themed around Optimism for the Future: we want to explore and celebrate the potential of the association space to carve a meaningful path for themselves in the face of future developments. This also means celebrating the people making this possible, and we are therefore delighted to announce the SURGE Innovation Pioneer Award!

Do you know a person whose creativity and initiative has led to meaningful change in their organization, or beyond? You can nominate them for the Innovation Pioneer Award, by submitting a short video explaining why you are nominating this person, what they have done to deserve a nomination, and why they make you optimistic about the future of associations.

How to Nominate:

Until October 15th, submissions will be open for a video of two minutes or less, that explains and showcases your nomination. Who is the person? What makes them pioneering? We want to hear about their projects, products, or strategies that have pushed the industry forward. You can submit your nomination here.

Finalists will then be chosen, and the short-listed videos will be available for the community to vote upon through the SURGE event page. Voting closes on November 1st, and the winner will be announced at the start of SURGE Optimism Day Two: November 8th.

We can’t wait to see the pioneers unearthed through this nomination process, and look forward to celebrating innovation together during the SURGE Optimism conference!
